CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

Some of the weaknesses observed in the candidate’s script were:

-           Illegible writing of shorthand outlines;
-           Insufficient knowledge of different types of paragraph.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

The following remedies were suggested towards improving the performance of                  candidates in subsequent examinations:

1. Candidates should focus on drilling with use of short forms, phrases and contractions in shorthand so as to improve on the placement of outlines and the speed;
2. Candidates should improve on their spelling and correct usage of English grammar so as to avoid grammatical errors;
3. More time should be allotted to practice before the examination with emphasis on tools on menu bar fonts during word processing;
4. More qualified teachers should be employed in the teaching of the subject in schools.
