Question 2
The first part of Question 2 focused on personal behaviour and safety in the workshop. Most of the candidates gave answers on general workshop safety.
Observation
The expected answers are:
- never run about the worship;
 
(ii)        avoid unnecessary haste when carrying  sharp tools;
    (iii)       avoid horse play;
    (iv)       do not distract the attention work on a  machine;
    (v)        avoid shouting and raising unnecessary  alarms.
  
    The second part of the  question involved steps in carrying out a machine woodworking  operation. Most of the candidates seem not to understand the operation.
 The expected response is:
    (1)        cut the platform to size;
    (2)        cut the foam to size;
    (3)        chamfer the edges (cut away at angle 450)  from top to bottom;
    (4)        apply contact adhesive to the chamfered  edges and the platform, and allow to  dry until it is tacky (slightly tacky).
    (5)        press the chamfered edges carefully down  unto the platform.
