Make a painting on the topic:
An old man sitting under a tree, telling stories to four children sitting on a mat, on a sunny day in a village.

This question was not popular among the candidates, probably because of its requirements. In most of the compositions, drawings of figures and objects were weak and not relevant to the theme. There was total disregard for tones and thus, most paintings were flat. Many of the works lacked unity, and there was no emphasis on the centre of interest. All this pointed to lack of adequate preparation which led to loss of marks. |
