Candidates' Strengths

A few candidates demonstrated the following strengths: 
(1)        Good techniques of shading and rendering
Few of the candidates demonstrated good understanding of the techniques of shading. These candidates used shading (in graded tones) to indicate the source of light, show contrast between the objects and between the objects and the background.
(2)        Accurate and proportional representation of objects
Some candidates were able to render objects and figure accurately and proportionally. The quality of the lines and drawings of the candidates were high. These candidates demonstrated proficiency that could only result from continuous practice of drawing with good observation skills.
