CANDIDATES’ STRENGTHS

A few candidates demonstrated the following strengths: 
(1)        Good techniques of shading
Few of the candidates demonstrated good understanding of the techniques of shading. This class of candidates were able to use shading (in graded tones) to indicate the source of light, show contrast between the objects and between the objects and their various backgrounds.

(2)        Accurate and proportional representation of objects
Some candidates were able to render their objects and figure accurately and proportionally. The quality of the lines and drawing of the candidates were high. This class of candidates demonstrated experience that could only have resulted from constant practice of drawing and good observation skills.
