Few candidates attempted this question. The performance was fair. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:

A.        LAYOUT                              

1.         PLANNING                          

1. Plan an appropriate motif(s) for a fabric to be used for upholstery in the Ministry

of Health.                                                                                                       
(ii)        Mapping out space for diamond repeat pattern.                                            
2.         COMPOSITION                   

(i)         Judicious use of space to size specification: 25 x 15cm.                               

(ii)        Effective arrangement of all the elements.                                        

B.        TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY     

(i)         Ability to execute beautiful and attractive motif(s) relating to health.         

(ii)        Proper arrangements of diamond repeat pattern.                                          

(iii)       Skillful use of materials and instruments.                                                     

C.        COLOUR                 

(i)         Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.                                            

(ii)        Effective mixing/application and distribution of colours to specification.   

D.        SUITABILITY        

(i)         Ability to produce suitable fabric design for upholstery to be used in the Ministry of Health.                                                                                                                    

E.        ORIGINALITY                   

(i)         Uniqueness of the design.
