Weakness and Remedies

Candidates’ weaknesses were shown in their inability to
-           sketch objects correctly and neatly; 
-           explain workshop operations such as bending;
-           state why it is not suitable to use mains supply directly on arc welding machine;
-           state reasons for using acetylene in gas welding.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES FOR OVERCOMING THE WEAKNESSES
In order to overcome the weaknesses, it was suggested that candidates should have regular practical classes before taking the examination, as this would help develop their ability to explain, describe and produce a good sketch of welding terms and objects.
