            -           thinner;
            -           turpentine;
            -           water;
            -           paraffin;
            -           methylated spirit;
            -           kerosene.

  (ii)       Functions of a solvent in a wood finish:

            A solvent:

            -           dissolves a finish with the purpose of thinning the finish;
-           enhances the drying of finishes;
-           quickens the application of finishes.
