OBSERVATION

Over 90% of the candidates attempted this question.  Most of the candidates got right the calculation in part (b) pf the question.  However some of the candidates could not state the formula for current as I =  V
                                                                                                                                                                             R
Due to lack of knowledge, part (c) was poorly responded to by a large number of the candidates.  The correct answers are:

  • heater plug – preheats the indirect C.I engine combustion chamber before starting the engine.
  • Lift pump – supplies fuel from the tank to the injector pump or carburettor.
  • Injector – breaks and atomizes the diesel fuel.
