The Chief Examiners were generally of the opinion that the test papers for the Science Subjects were of good quality in terms of representativeness of the test items, clarity of the rubrics and comparability with the standard of previous test papers.  The marking schemes were also considered detailed, flexible, easy to use and fair to the candidates.
                      In comparison with the May/June 2009 WASSCE, the pattern of performance was as follows:

                        -     There was no significant change in  candidates’ performance in Physics 1,   Biology 2 and Physical Education 2;
-     An improvement was recorded in Agricultural  Science 1, Health Science 1 & 2;   and Chemistry 1;
-     There was a decline in Agricultural Science 2, Physics 2, Biology 1, Physical  Education 1 and Chemistry 2.
