Weaknesses observed in candidates' scripts included:
(i) In-adequate treatment of topics in Commerce syllabus due to the use of "key points" booklet which encourages rote learning and memorizing
(ii) Poor expression: many candidates could not clearly express their points in simple sentences.
(iii) Most of the candidates misunderstood the questions which led to answering them out of context e.g a question on ways by which commercial banks facilitate foreign trade; candidates simply listed functions of commercial banks.
(iv) Candidates showed weakness in comparson and differentiation of some terms and concepts used in Commerce
