Question 1

(A) Dee edemede banyere isiokwu a, 'Uboch] nd] ohi biara n'ulo any!'.

This essay question required candidates to narrate a robbery incident that occurred in their house.

The expected points were:
(i)        Oge ha biara - Ututu, Ehihie, Abali dg.
(ii)        Etu ha siri bia-na mberede,ha gbakara I,lZC;>, tipuru ahu aja, dg.
(iii)       Ihe i mere mgbe i huru ha.
(iv)       the nd] ohi ahu mere.

Observation

Candidates that answered the question did very well because they were able to write up to the required number of words.

b) Deputa rnkparitauka d] n'etiti nd] enyi abuo maka iwu ile ule nke ugboro abuo tupu rnrnadu abanye Mahadum.
In this question, candidates were requested to write in a dialogue form, a discussion between two friends concerning the compulsory test to be taken before gaining admission into the university.

Some candidates did not perform well in this question because they did not write the essay in a dialogue form.

(C) Deere nna gi leta, gwa ya na i hula onye iqa-alu.
Candidates were requested to 'write a letter to your father, telling him that you have found a life partner'.
The expected points were:
adreesi odee, deeti
mmalite - ekele mmalite na !jl,l ase
ahu leta -
aha onye i chore ill,l
etu Q d] - ocha, oji, ogologo, dg.
Obodo ya - Owere, Oka dg.
Candidates that attempted this question, did justice to it.
(d)     Dee edemede kowara ilu a:
'Nwata a kwo n'azu arnaqhi na I,lZQ di anya.
In this question, candidates were given a proverb and were asked to illustrate the meaning of the proverb with the use of one long or two short stories.

The proverb means that a child tied on the back does not know the journey ahead.

Candidates that attempted this essay failed to explain the meaning of the proverb before giving the illustration.
(F)       Umunwaany] ;gl,.l ezigbo akwukwo bara uru. I kwenyere na nke a?
This question is an argumentative essay. It requested candidates to write for or against the motion 'Female education is very important'.
They were expected to mention that:
Nkwenye

  • na-eme ka nwaanyi luta ezigbo di
  • na-eme ka nwaany] rnuta ibi ezigbo ndu.
  • na-enye nwaanyi ugwu na nsopuru be di ya.

Ekwenyeghi
Otutu urnunwaany] quru akwukwo na-eme isiike
Ufodu na-eme oke mpako.

Ufodu na-egosi na ha ka nwoke.
