Question 1

(a) Define the following:

(i)        two dimensional art;
(ii)       three dimensional art.

(b)   Discuss two similarities and three differences between two and three-dimensional arts.

Most candidates did not understand the terms - two and three dimensional arts, and so were not able to give accurate definitions as required in (a) part. The candidates therefore lost some marks. Some of the expected answers were:

(a) (i) Two dimensional art is a work, either drawn, painted or do on a flat surface;

(ii) Three dimensional art is a work that shows both the length, breadth and depth of an object.

(b) Both are art works
Both are visual
Both have length and breadth.
