Question 4 was poorly attempted by the candidates. The use of proportion and perspective was inadequate, some figure drawings were weak while some paintings lack the use of tones.
In question 5, most candidates handled the requirements with care and ability which produced good paintings. Regard was also given to better composition, tonality and judicious use of space provided whereas other candidates’ paintings begged for boldness and suitable use of proportion while some of the paintings lacked the use of tones.
Only few candidates attempted question 6. this could be caused by the overwhelming demands on proportion and perspective. However, they still performed well in composition, use of space, application and distribution of colours as well as their styles of painting. Their rendition in painting is highly commendable.
