(d) State two functions of a clutch in a transmission system.
Observation
(a) Functions of a Stabilizer Bar Fitted to the Front Part of a Car
- It gives the front wheel of the car a good contact with the road.
- It minimizes vehicle twist when brake is applied.
- It dampens shock.
- It provides structural support.
- It protects vehicle body from rolling at sharp cornering.
- It reduces wheel wobble.
(b) How Back-Lash of the Steering Box is Corrected
It is corrected by adjusting the position of the gearbox in such a way clearance between two mating gears is reduced. Worn steering gearbox is then removed and replaced.
