Most candidates who attempted this question presented their answers clearly and scored high marks. They were expected to write on Solomon’s request for wisdom and how the wisdom was tested. However, some candidates failed to mention the following points to earn maximum marks:
(i) God would add to his days if he walked in the way of his father.
(ii) He made feast for his servants when he got to Jerusalem.
(iii) He offered burnt peace offering in Jerusalem
The (b) part of the question was the undoing of many candidates as they could not mention the following points to earn maximum marks:
(i) King Solomon then ruled that the living child be given to the first woman.
(ii) When Israel heard of the King’s judgement, they presumed that the wisdom of God was on him.
(iii) The woman whose child was alive protested the judgement. |
