Most candidates attempted this question but unfortunately they did not mention points that warranted Jesus to give the parable hence the loss of marks for the first five points. This invariably affected the candidates’ scores. Some of the points missed included:
(i) A lawyer came to test Jesus, saying Teacher what shall I do to inherit eternal life.
(ii) Jesus asked him what was written in the law.
(iii) The lawyer replied that you should love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and mind and your neighbour as yourself.
(iv) The lawyer asked who is my neighbour?
In the (b) part of the question the candidates could not relate how the story shows concern for one another. They were expected to include the following in their answers:
(i) Rendering assistance to whoever is in danger without prejudice
(ii) Correction of the attitude of both the priest and the Levi
(iii) That we should be ready to assist others. |
