General Comments
The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with those of the previous years. The questions were within the scope of the examination syllabus. The rubrics were clear and unambiguous. The marking scheme was detailed, comprehensive, clear and fair to all candidates.
The raw mean score of 14.0 and standard deviation of 8.49 indicated that the performance of the candidates was better than the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2018 – first series, with a raw mean score of 10.0 and standard deviation of 8.43. A total of 6,093 candidates sat the paper.
