This question was equally popular. Most of the candidates who attempted it performed credibly well and scored high marks. The weakness recorded in the question is attributed to the fact that that some candidates were unable to explain how People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) are discriminated against by family members, peers, government and the society at large. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:

1. Discrimination in the use of public utilities
2. Denial of their fundamental human rights
3. Loss of employment
4. Ostracized by friends and family members/other groups
5. Loss of income and other means of livelihood
6. Non-recognition of HIV/AIDS victims in the society
7. Denial of opportunities in the society
8. Denial of employment
9. Gossip/backbiting
10. Confinement/quarantine

1. Discrimination should be discouraged due to the fact that their condition does not stop them from carrying out activities both at home and in their offices.
2. Discrimination against them would mean losing some technocrats among them that are needed for the development of the nation.
3. Anyone can find himself/herself in this condition and would not admire being treated badly.
4. To curb the rate of suicide attempts in the society.
5. To discourage the idea of brain drain.
6. It helps in positive advocacy on the management of HIV/AIDs.
7. Their presence in places of concern will also serve as a proof to those that still doubt the existence of HIV/AIDS.
8. They can be used as volunteers for HIV/AIDS prevention campaign in society.
9. To encourage carriers to publicly reveal their HIV/AIDS status.
10. To encourage the general public to ascertain their HIV/AIDS status.
11. It enables the society to accord the HIV/AIDS victims their rights
12. They need help and care.
