Observation

The candidates that attempted the questions did very well in explaining the points. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:

1. CIVIL SOCIETY

Civil society often refers to non- governmental and nonprofit making organization established by individuals/ groups with common interest and purpose with specific aim of making society better through several programmes and activities. It is also referred to as the “Third Sector” of the society.

2. WAYS CIVIL SOCIETY CAN PROMOTE POPULAR PARTICIPATION
   1. Political education
   2. Acting as watchdogs on political leaders
   3. Enforcement of fundermental rights
   4. Public enlightenment
   5. Social justice/ welfare services
