The two main classes of fibres in 1a were not correctly classified by many candidates some wrote synthetics fibres as manmade fibres which made them to lose marks. Many candidates could not differentiate between rayon and polyester fibres in 2b.Some candidates could compare only cotton and nylon absorbency while resiliency, launder- ability and approaching fire were compared wrongly by many in 2(c). Knitting and crocheting were wrongly explained by many candidates. Some could not mention the use of two or more pins and yarn to form loops for knitting and the use of a hook and yarn to form loops for crocheting.
