The ‘a’ part of this question was on explanation of term professional ethics Majority of the candidates exhibited their ability as the question was well attempted
(b) (i) requested the candidates to state how a cosmetologist would react to the client, (ii) sanitization of materials to avoid infecting other client,(iii)ways of managing the dandruff condition. The candidates performance was average as some of them were unable to give correct answers for example majority could not tell exactly how client should be welcome i.e they just stated welcome her/him well instead of welcoming with a smile or in a friendly manner and with a hand shake, washing with soap and water instead of disinfection with alcohol ,menthylate spirit etc The candidates’ emphasised on cleanliness instead of killing germs and their focus was on routine washing, creaming, combing instead of using medicated product, anti dandruff shampoo, cream etc.
(c).required the candidates to list elements of personal hygiene. Majority of the candidates answered the question correctly while some candidates write on environmental hygiene.
(d) requested for how a cosmetologist can prevent bed breath while working. Candidates performance was average while some candidates gave impracticable answers e.g don’t talk while working, cover your mouth etc.
(e) was on ways of providing security for a salon. Majority of the candidates answered it
correctly e.g use of keys to lock door, security guards, burglary.
(f) required candidates to suggest reasons why client troop in salon A more than B. The candidates’ answers were correct e.g. good advertisement, low price list and having professional.
