General Comments
The Chief Examiner reported that the standard of the paper compared favourably to that of the previous year in terms of the concept tested and the skills measured. The questions were within the scope of the syllabus as well as the ability of the candidates. It was reported that the rubrics were clearly stated and the marking scheme was comprehensive.
The time allotted for the paper was adequate. The Chief Examiner also reported that candidates’ performance was slightly better when compared to that of the previous year. The paper this year recorded raw mean score of 48 out of 70 and standard deviation of 14.80 as compared to WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 which had a raw mean score of 44 out of 70 and standard deviation of 15.49. WASSCE for School Candidates, 2021 recorded a raw mean score of 38 out of 70 with standard deviation of 10.72.
