CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

The obvious weakness of the candidates was in question 4, which had to do with bleaching. Candidates that attempted the question scored below average. It clearly shows that the content of the topic is yet to be fully understood by the candidates. Also, Inability to express themselves while answering questions.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

1. The teachers should be encouraged to devote special attention to research and the teaching of the topic.
2. Relevant books should be made available to schools.
3. Candidates should avoid the use of trade names, but adopt the chemical names of the bleaching agents.
4. They need to familiarise themselves with the proper method of answering questions.
