Candidates' Weakness and Suggested Remedies
Candidates’ weaknesses include:
(a) Inability to write extensively on the chosen topics as some candidates wrote far below the required 300 words;
(b) Inability to arrange their points in logical sequence;
(c) Poor mechanical accuracy;
(d) Improper use of punctuation marks and dots where necessary;
(e) Carelessness as regards the use of appropriate orthography.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES
(a) Teachers should endeavour to address all the identified weaknesses from the beginning of students’ course in secondary school;
(b) Qualified Ẹdo teachers should be employed to teach the subject;
(c) Students should be encouraged to buy and study the recommended textbooks properly.
