The requirement in this question is the knowledge of the fact that capacitors in series combine like resistors in parallel while capacitors in parallel combine like resistors in series. More so, candidates were required to understand and apply the direct proportionality between the potential difference maintained across the terminals of a capacitor and electric charge stored.
