Observation

This is a very popular question among the candidates but their performance in the question was just fair.  This is because some of them could not indicate the correct unit of measurement of annual rainfall and mean annual rainfall.  Also, others could not correctly indicate that:
-           pressure is measured using barometer/barograms;
-           sunshine is measured using sunshine recorder/sundial;
-           rainfall is measured using rain gauge;
-           temperature is measured using thermometer/thermogram.

Some of the candidates could not describe the effects of climate on agriculture.  The effects of climate on agriculture include:

-           high temperature and rainfall support root crops cultivation in  Equatorial climatic regions;
-           high temperature and limited rainfall support animal rearing in Tropical Continental Climatic regions;
-           grain crops are grown in areas of high temperature and low rainfall;
-           polar climate is suitable for the rearing of reindeers which is well adapted to the cold weather;
-          sunshine is used in the drying of agricultural products;
-           sunshine is used by plants in photosynthesis;
-           winds aid pollination;
-           winds aid dispersal of seeds;
-           winds aid winnowing;
-           heavy rainfall on slopes causes erosion leading to poor yields;
-           very heavy rainfall results in flooding and destruction of crops;
-           high temperature and rainfall supports the growth of tree crops in
            Equatorial areas.
