1. Describe any three causes of air pollution.
2. Outline three major effects of air pollution.
3. Suggest two ways of controlling air pollution.

This was a very popular question among the candidates and majority of the candidates who answered the question performed well except that some of the candidates did not explain the points.  Rather, they merely listed the points which made such candidates to lose marks.  The candidates were expected to describe the following causes of air pollution:

-           odour as a result of improper disposal
-           emission of smoke from domestic sources
-           fumes from exhaust of vehicles and aeroplanes
-           fumes from mineral works
-           industrial waste and fumes
-           dust from explosion of bombs and other dangerous weapons
-           volcanic eruption
-           artificial cloud seeding
-           chloroflouro carbon (CFC) from cooling system and sprays
-           noise from loud speakers and aeroplanes.
