Candidates’ weakness as reflected in their work includes:
(1) Violation of rubrics
Many candidates failed to adhere to the rubrics of the paper and therefore answered more than the required number of questions and provided more than the needed answers to the questions. For instance, while some of the candidates answered five questions instead of four, some supplied seven answers to a question instead of five etc.
(2) Poor grammatical expression
Many of the candidates lacked simple English language expression to convey their ideas and to provide answers to the questions. Poor tenses were used and this thereby distorted their intended facts and rendered the whole work sordid.
(3) Misinterpretation of the questions
Many candidates failed to perform excellently because they were unable to interpret the questions properly and failed to understand the demands of the questions. They therefore supplied wrong answers to the questions.
