This was a popular question and the candidates who answered it performed averagely. They really had a good idea of the question. However, a few candidates failed to answer the ‘b’ part very well. The candidates were expected to write the following points as answers to the question:
(a) Political participation is a set of voluntary activities in which the
citizens of a country involve themselves directly or indirectly through influencing public policies and decision making
(b) (i) contesting elections in order to hold public office;
(ii) belonging to a political party;
(iii) attending political rallies and campaigns;
(iv) sponsoring/donating to political parties/candidates;
(v) voting during elections.
