Weakness and Remedies
The observed weaknesses of the candidates include:
- illegible handwriting;
- inability to correctly name the parts of the diagram in question 6(d)(i);

- study past questions and Chief Examiner’s Report;
- improve on their spelling of technical terms;
- study often and prepare ahead of exams;
- read textbooks that have enough description of topics rather than key points;
- study questions properly before attempting them;
- pay attention to rubrics and instructions;
- study and label diagrams.
The teachers should:
- engage the use of WAEC syllabus in teaching the subject;
- attend WAEC coordination and marking exercises often;
- ensure that diagrams and correct labelling are taught in classes;
- teach the correct way of spelling technical and scientific words.
