The general performance on this question was poor. The candidates were asked Explain how acquiring Home Management skills can be of benefit in the following areas: Family health; Family clothing; Family feeding; Family maintenance; Family relationship. Therefore candidates’ preformed woefully.
The expected answer are

EXPLANATION OF HOW ACQUIRING HOME MANAGEMENT SKILLS CAN BE OF BENEFIT IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS.

(a) FAMILY HEALTH
It improving sanitation, making sure children are immunized appropriately; take care of the state of health and provision of nutrition meals i.e. adequate diet to all ages of family members.

(b) FAMILY CLOTHING
Helps in selecting appropriate clothing for members of the family especially in wardrobe planning, give knowledge of the origin of textile fabrics and their characteristics and help with knowledge of appropriate laundry process, care and maintenance of clothing.

(c) FAMILY FEEDING
Assist in knowing the type of food to serve particular member of the family, knowing the nutritional needs of all the member of the family, correct diet for different health conditions and teach the homemaker how to manage family income to provide adequate diet.

(d) FAMILY MAINTENANCE
can assist a homemaker in selection, usage, care and maintenance of household equipment, tool, furnishing, help in the economics usage of utilities in the home and also help minimize conflict/crises.
( e) FAMILY RELATIONSHIP

It teach adequate care of family member especially the infant and aged, provide a guideline for Socialization within and outside the home and help in fostering family relationship e.g role of V family member, parents/child relationship.
