Observation

These questions were on customs and tradition. In Q. 11, candidates were requested to enumerate the different stages involved in marriage in Igboland and state six enquiries that are made before marriage negotiations can start. Candidates were not able to list the following: kola ceremony, visit to the prospective husband’s home, bride price negotiation and taking the wife home.
The few candidates who answered this question exhibited poor knowledge of the custom.

In Q. 12, candidates were required to list other things that could be used in place of kolanut in Igboland and uses of kolanut.  Many candidates who answered this question answered it very well and scored high marks.
