Candidates’ weaknesses were noticed by Chief Examiners as follows:
- Poor command of English Language.
- Incorrect transliteration of Qur’anic verses and text of Hadith.
- Inadvertent violation of rubrics.
- Evidence of inadequate preparations for the examination.
4. SUGGESTED REMEDIES
In order to address the weaknesses listed above, candidates should undergo a basic course in English Language so as to improve their writing skills. On transliteration, teachers of Islamic Studies should teach their candidates the standard form of transliteration. Also, they should read the instruction very carefully and abide by its dictates.
