Jack is a firm leader. His leadership is focused. He is able to assign roles in a specific manner. He gives instructions and ensures that the instructions are carried out. He is able to organise a hunt in which everyone, including Ralph and Piggy, participates without compulsion.

Ralph on the other hand, though democratically elected was unable to make anyone work except Piggy. Therefore things became disorderly around him. He was unable to make progress with the building project because of the situation. His reliance on the conch is for authority is legitimate but at critical moments, the conch does not speak for him.

Few Candidates attempted the question. Candidates’ performance was fair.
