Observation

This question is on Nii’s motor cycle ride. Most candidates described how Nii was cheated at the Benin-Nigeria border. They also pointed out that he cannot speak any Nigeria language, though he bears Yoruba marks on his face.

Candidates were expected to discuss the following:

• Relation to the theme of cheating.
• The character identification of Nii.

• The rider refuses to take the usual fare. As Nii makes to give the rider money from the wad in his socks, the rider relieves him of all the money and speeds off.

• Nii arrives Nigeria hopeful to find reception in his home country at last
• The reality of nationality: Though the motorbike rider brings Nii home, he is regarded as an alien.

Candidates’ efforts here were commendable.
