This question is the role that Joe plays in the reunion of Mama Orojo and Nii Tackie, her brother.

- The character identification of Nii as the protagonist, Joe and Mama Orojo.
- Joe’s encounter with Mama Orojo: he meets Mama Orojo after she is defrauded and assists her to get genuine gold. They both fall in love and Joe takes Mama Orojo to different places in search of Nii Tackie.
- Joe’s relationship with Nii Tackie as a customer of the Bank where Nii Tackie works.
- Significance of Joe’s role: he projects the theme of fulfilment and contributes to the theme of love and marriage in the novel; He is a rallying force of unity – Pan Africanism – between Nigeria and Ghana
