His prayer is answered and he faces another battle with the sharks. He encourages himself against all odds showing strength and resilience. His battle with the fish with wounded palm and cramped left arm shows his bravery. The pride in him lures him to achieve the ultimate. He ignores the danger of sailing far out to sea. His pride motivates him to strive against defeat.
