Over 80% of the candidates performed poorly in this question(s) as they were unable to continue the given melody to form a passage not less than 12 and not more than 16 bars as required. They also failed to tackle other questions on Two-Part Writing and Harmony because of their poor knowledge of theory of music.
Interestingly, the questions demanded the knowledge of general musicianship and application
of the knowledge acquired in theory and harmony in answering the questions. However, no two candidates’ answers will be the same
