(a) Explain the following terms and signs as they relate to vocal performance:
- Ad Libitum;
- Sotto Voce; .
(b) Apart from Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, mention any two other voice range that are obtainable in singing.
(c) From the following list of Nigerian Art musicians, identify the two that are voice specialists:
Akin Euba, Fela Sowande, Christopher Oyesiku Adam Fiberesima, Meki Nzewi, Joy Nwosu Lo-Bamijoko.
Observation
The question was popular among the candidates. They performed very well by scoring the maximum obtainable marks in the question. They responded to the question thus:
(a) (i) At the pleasure of the singer or At liberty or At singer’s choice or Free style
(ii) In an undertone, subdued or whispered.
(iii) Fermata/Long pause. The singer can hold the note for longer than its value.
