- client;
- architect;
- quantity surveyor;
- agent;
- decorating contractor.
Most of the candidates answered the question. The candidate’s performance was good. The candidates were expected to write the following points as answers to the question:
(a) (i) Client
- Provides idea for the architect.
- Provides finance for the project.
- Takes delivery of the project on completion.
- Decides the design of project.
(ii) Architect
- Produces the blue print.
- Interprets the blue print to the client.
- Supervises the project.
- Acts as agent on site
(iii) Quantity surveyor
- Prepares bill of quantity.
- Ensures materials are supplied and used to specifications.
- Equally supervises the project.
- Ensures that initial budget for a project is not exceeded
(iv) Agent
- Represents the client’s interest on site.
- Reports activities on site to the client.
- Takes records of activities on site.
- Assesses the level/quality of job done on site.
(v) Decorating contractor
- Prepares estimate for decorating work.
- Secures competent craftsman to execute the job.
- Supervises the activities of the craftsman/artisan/ journeyman
- Pays the craftsman/artisan/journeyman
- Produce quality job for the client.
