The standard of the paper was good and compared favourably with those of previous years. The questions achieved good coverage of the syllabus. The rubrics were clear and concise while the Marking Scheme was flexible and adequate.
The performance of the candidates was poorer than in the previous year given the raw mean score of 23 and standard deviation of 17.35 for the candidate population of 9,960 as against the raw mean score of 31 and a standard deviation of 18.57 in the May/June 2008 WASSCE with candidature of 9,216.
