This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair. In part (a) few candidates however, responded by saying competition that is done by eight or more teams, sports organized by clubs in the country and also events arranged on the national level by school as an international competition in sports as what is an international completion in sports. In part (b) few candidates also went astray by writing statements such as sending hoodlums out of the stadium using armed policemen and soldiers to fight crowd as ways of controlling crowd during sport competition.
The expected answers were as follows:
(a) International Competition in Sports
- Competition where two or more countries(named) come together to
contest in sports/activities
(b) Ways of controlling crowd during sport competitions
- provision of spectator barrier/named
- presence of law enforcement agents
- appropriate information flow
- good officiating/explained
- less emphasis on wining
- good organisation – including sale of ticket to avoid over-crowding
