In part (a), majority of the candidates were able to explain knockout tournament.
In part (b), few candidates could mention two advantages and disadvantages of knockout tournament.
In part (c), majority of the candidates could not mention four games in which league tournament could be used.

Explanation on knockout tournament

This is a kind of competition whereby a team has no chance to continue in the competition once it has been defeated

OR

A type of tournament where the loser of each match is immediately eliminated

(b)(1) Advantages of knockout - it is very exciting and entertaining

- it saves time

- it is used for large number of participants

- it enhances standards because each team puts in the best performance

(b)(ii) Disadvantages of knockout tournament

- the best team may not emerge as winner
