General Comments

The standard of the paper was high and comparable to those of previous years,therewasa wide coverage of the syllabus. The rubrics in the question paper were clear and easy to understand. Virtually all domains of learning were tested in the paper. Candidates’ performance and styles of response were quite revealing. However, candidates’ performance was below expectation. The marking scheme was detailed, flexible and unambiguous.

The candidates’ raw had a mean score of 28 out of 60 and a standard deviation of 10.64 with a candidature of 63546 indicates a better performance than that of WASSCE for Private Candidate 2016, when a raw mean score of 13 out of 60 marks and a standard deviation of 06.24 with a candidature of 77990 was recorded.
