CANDIDATE’S WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES
The following weaknesses were exhibited by the candidates
- poor computational skills
- poor language expressions
- difficulty in manipulating the scale of conversion of questions 1 and 2
- conversion of raw values using appropriate scales
- inability to differentiate between significant figures and decimal places
- poor handling of graphs involving values less than unit/very large values.
- inability to deduce accurately from their graphs
- precautions were poorly stated
- applications of principles were badly handled.
- unable to define electromotive force
- unable to determine ci from the equation

. Suggested Remedies
The following remedies were suggested:
- Parents should provide necessary and adequate support for their; children/ward in terms of textbooks, reading table etc.;
- laboratories should be well equipped by the appropriate authorities;
- adequate practical classes should be organized for candidates;
- teachers should be encouraged to attend WAEC main coordination and marking exercise;
- basic concepts in physics should be thoroughly taught;
- teachers to remind candidates that graph should occupy at least 1/3 of graph page and should not over approximate their decimal points when plotting graph;
- teachers to organize more classes to ensure adequate coverage of the syllabus;
- candidates to cultivate good reading habits.
