Majority of the candidates attempted this question but the (b) aspect to the question were misinterpreted by some candidates as some were listing the functions of storekeeper instead of stating the benefits derived from storekeeping practices as required by the examiner.The expected responses from candidates are:
2 (a) Factors Mr Audu would consider in setting up a warehousing business are as follows:
i. Means of transportation and availability of good road network for easy accessibility;
ii. Presence of good labour force to support loading and unloading of goods;
iii. Government regulations on the goods to be kept in the warehouse;
iv. Proximity to the factories to ease movement of goods from factories to the warehouse;
v. Accessibility to source of power supply;
vi. Nearness of the warehouse to customers or market;
vii. Type of equipment to be used in the warehouse;
viii. The cost involved in setting up the warehouse;
x. The nature of the product to be kept;
xi. Availability of capital in setting up a warehouse;
xii. Availability of basic social amenities;
xiii. Adequate security for both staff and materials;
xiv. Adequate space for loading and unloading;
xv. Accessible location for suppliers and consumers.
