(1) The figure above shows the orthographic views of a block. Draw, full size, the block in isometric with P the lowest and the circular face to the right.
Observation
Many of the candidates attempted this question and performed fairly well. However, some of the candidates failed to read and understand the question properly and some drew without the use of drawing instruments.
Candidates were expected to do the following:
(a) draw the isometric axes;
(b) draw to full size (50 x 40 x 75);
(c) make P the lowest point ;
(d) draw face A (two circles in isometric);
(e) draw face B (side of cylinder);
(f) draw face C (side of cylinder);
(g) draw face D (web);
(h) draw face F (upright);
(i) draw face E (thickness of upright);
(j) draw circular face to the right.
