This question was also very popular among the candidates and their performance in the question was alright.   Tourism marketing refers to the activities which direct the flow of goods and services from producer to the tourists (consumer) as may be desired.  The strategies used in tourism marketing are:

  • market segmentation
  • mass marketing
  • niche marketing

The benefits of tourism marketing include:

  • It increases sales
  • It increases the awareness of the existence of the tourism goods and services
  • It makes available wider products and services to potential tourists
  • It enables tourism providers to know and meet the needs of the consumers
  • It enhances the image of service providers
  • It increases profits to tourist services providers
  • It helps to identify the ideal customers
