Observation
Candidates’ performance was excellent. The question was attempted by most of the candidates. They were expected to respond to the question thus:
(a) Definition of the term drawing
- It is the art of representing a sketch/picture/diagram using lines with
legible materials like chalk, pencil, crayon, pen, pastel, ink, oil, acrylic and
charcoal.
- It is a sketch/picture/diagram made with a pencil, pen, crayon, charcoal or any other instrument that can make a mark rather than painting.
- It is a form of visual art in which a person uses various drawing instruments to mark paper or any other surface.
- It is the art or technique of producing images on a surface, usually on paper by means of marks, using inks, graphite, chalk, charcoal or crayon.

(c) Four steps taken in stretching a paper for a wash drawing
- Get ready the paper, paper tape, cutting tool, water and board.
- Cut the paper to size.
- Wet the boards surface with water.
- Paste the wet paper on the wet board.
- Dress the wet paper/spread the wet paper to eliminate air bubbles.
- Once the wet paper is completely flat without bubbles use a paper
tape to tape the edges.
- Allow to dry.
